API 16C Standard Choke & Kill Manifold Drilling Control Equipment
The choke and kill manifold were attached to both sides of the BOP during the well drilling process; the choke circulation and bleed can be achieved by varying the choke valve or the manifold's gate valve. The pressure differential between the bit pressure and the case can also be adjusted. These are the instruments used for either unbalanced or balanced drilling. In the event of a well blowout or kick during drilling, open the gate valve in the middle or the choke manifold in sideways to release pressure. When mud enters the casing through the kill manifold, the well pump's high pressure can regulate the blowout and kick.

Configuration
The choke manifold consists of choke valves, gate valves, line pipes, fittings, pressure gauges, and other components.
Operating Instructions
(1) The working pressure of all components on the choke manifold shall be compatible with that of the BOP stack used.
(2) The choke manifold shall be installed at a place where the operator can reach it easily. The pressure test must be performed before installation and the seat test pressure shall be equal to the rated working pressure.
(3) The line pipe shall be level and straight as much as it could. In case of the turn of the line pipe, the 120-degree steel bent pipe shall be used. The bore of the line pipe shall be large enough.
(4) The pressure gauge must be installed.
(5) In winter, the choke manifold can work under a low-temperature conditions.
