Drilling Single Ram Bop Shaffer Type Oil Rig Blowout Preventer
The ram BOP is designed to seal the space between the casing and wellhead. When closed, it allows for operations like circulating drilling fluid, releasing pressure, and killing the well through the spool located beneath the BOP or pipelines connected to the side outlet of the BOP body. In case of an emergency, the ram BOP is capable of shearing the drilling tool in the hole to seal it off. The variable bore rams of the ram BOP can seal the annular space between the casing and pipes of different sizes within a specific range.
